Community MAker

Growing up I always had a strong desire to steer away from working on the computer and grab every opportunity to be outside.

I studied 3D Design with Overseas Studies at Manchester School of Art and spent a year at an arts university in Portugal. Nestled in the middle of a small pine forest, I worked on numerous collaborative projects drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment. Having had the opportunity to work so closely to nature, with outside workshop space, I realised that I needed to again be in an environment that allowed this. I love the collaborative element of creating and its ability to bring people together in a dynamic and encouraging environment and when I found Global Generation, I was surprised that this environment existed in the centre of London…

I began working with Global Generation as a Community Projects Assistant in the early summer of 2021 and am now Community Maker, leading the co-creation of our ever-developing spaces with a range of youth and community groups from the local area.

Alongside working at the Story Garden, I am a practising artist and when not in the Garden I can be found collecting rusty objects, admiring old bricks, or making something in clay.
