20 years of Global Generation
nature connection in the middle of the city
Since our founding in 2004, Global Generation has had a legacy of community engagement and co-design bridging the gap between developers and communities to make beautiful, vibrant public spaces. These spaces don’t just provide environmental benefits through circular design, material re-use and creating wildlife habitats, they also serve as community spaces to gather, grow food and learn from and connect with nature.
In creating these sites, we bring different people together from local residents, to businesses, schools to community organisations to have a say in the development of their local spaces and create greater connections with each other. From the Skip Garden, to Story Garden to Paper Garden we have built green spaces of varied sizes and shapes that can then serve as temporary educational spaces for young people and local residents. We want to mark this important milestone of 20 years with a range of celebrations. Sign up to our newsletter and check back for more information on celebrating with us in 2024!
This page will update throughout the year with new events, activities and ways to get involved.

#TriangleSite : Setting down roots
We have been given the opportunity to develop our first permanent site allowing the local community to shape a green space not just for themselves in the short term but for future generations of Londoners.
Over the past 20 years, across our seven sites, we have supported people to build their confidence, learn skills, form new friendships and develop practical ways to have a positive ecological and social impact on the world around them. We can’t wait to do this again at our Triangle Site in Kings Cross.
This year we have a dedicated campaign raising funds to support the Triangle Site. From our sustainable community build and green skills young trainee programme to our future food forest, you can help us make this build our best one yet!
