Floating Garden’s 3rd Birthday

This year we are celebrating three years of the Floating Garden with an afternoon of activities, art, live performances and lots of cake! 

Expect fun activities for all ages including:

• Wildlife watching and canal dipping

• Live performances 

• Short film screenings and exhibition from the Voices of the Water project 

• Arts and crafts (watercolour workshop, community weave)

• Seed giveaway

Wildlife watching and canal dipping: Explore the world beneath the water’s surface.

Live performances: Catch live music and performance on the boat roof — our floating stage for rising voices. 

Short film screenings and exhibition from Voices of the Water: a two-year project inviting the local community to reflect on water — inspired by the hidden River Fleet and the man-made Regent’s Canal.

Weaving Waves – A Communal Weaving Installation: Add your wave to a flowing weaving project of shared memories, wishes, and gratitude. Together, we’ll create a large-scale community piece to mark three years of the Floating Garden. Using natural and foraged materials — canal-side grasses, reeds, dried flowers, recycled fibres, and yarn — everyone is invited to contribute to this evolving artwork. The finished work will remain in the garden as a lasting tribute to our growing community and its connection to water, nature, and each other.

Painting Ripples – A Watercolour Postcard Moment: Let colours flow like water. In this peaceful corner, create your own canal-inspired postcard using soft watercolours and gentle imagination. Take a moment to pause, paint, and reflect — then write a message, a dream, or a quiet thought on the back. Carry it home as a small memory of this floating celebration.
