Material Playground: a sensory journey of building with natural materials
Our second cohort of build trainees is coming to an end and they have put their learnings and amazing achievements together for a showcase.
This cohort of trainees has been learning essential heritage construction skills on the live construction site of our new permanent community garden (#TriangleSite) and on learning excursions, like a trip to Wilderness Woods in Sussex. Their focus was on all things wood, including green woodworking, the timber construction of the kitchen, learning about extraction of wood through coppice and the at risk craft of Chestnut hurdle making. This has all been done while supporting community build days and documenting the process along the way.
Come along to the Build Trainee Showcase: Material Playground, a sensory journey of building with natural materials. Outputs for the showcase include:
A Material Library
A Sound installation
