Join us for this special session of gardening club in collaboration with London Sinfonietta. Every week our gardening club meets on Thursdays at Story Garden from 2 - 4 p.m. In this special session on March 13, which will be extended to 5pm, composer Omri Kochavi and London Sinfonietta will join our gardeners to lead a workshop which will explore the natural sounds of gardening as well as intentionally using garden tools as percussion instruments. You do not need any prior musical knowledge to take part. The project will culminate in a unique piece of music to be performed in the garden later this year (September 14 save the date!). Would you like to take part in this unique project? Sign up to our March 13 session of gardening club!
More about the Composer & Project
Omri Kochavi, is part of the London Sinfonietta Writing the Future programme. In this programme, composers propose a project that stretches their artistic vision. Omri’s new work is inspired by the Fiona Davison's An Almost Impossible Thing; he will bring to life the stories of early female professional gardeners. Designed for community garden spaces, the ensemble will feature instrumentalists, singers and on-stage gardeners, joining forces to celebrate the entangled lives of these exceptional women.
